Hi, I’m B.J Starink; a blood and gore author of serial killer nightmares. I write Psychological Horror and Horror/Fantasy… honestly, anything horror-related (yes, even horror children’s books).

My day job is best described as “playing with LEGO,” but on a much more adult level and thankfully stepping on these bricks doesn’t hurt as much as the sharp tiny ones.

My writing story is far from over. It began in an unexpected place: jail. I wasn’t much of a reader, but during solitary confinement I felt compelled to write. What started as a way to pass time turned into a purpose. My first book, Unknown Tendencies, surprised everyone and after that, close to fifty other books “blasted out of my hands.”

That first book was written on a typewriter, survived countless interruptions (including being deleted multiple times by my mischievous cat, Stormie), and ultimately came to life on nothing more than a 4-inch cellphone.

While I love crafting gripping blood-and-gore horror, I also write free downloadable children’s books, stories meant to make a real difference for young readers. My time in jail, though brief, turned my life around in ways I never anticipated. It gave me storytelling and a renewed purpose.
